Heartland Crisis: Tonex Blasts GM, Describes Allegations Against Mgt As Laughable

_..Insists Players Requested By Coach Were All Registered

Following allegations against some management members of Heartland FC by the clubs General Manager, Promise Nwachukwu, of working against the progress of the club, one of the key officials of the former league champions has debunked the allegations.

In a swift reaction, Mr Tonex Chukwu, who is the club's licencing officer has blasted the general manager of Heartland, for accusing  some members of the management for reason’s why the club is in relegation waters.

An audio making rounds which Infonews.com.ng listened to, the former Media Officer of Enyimba FC described the action of Mr Nwachukwu as laughable, stating that in a normal clime, if his staff are working against him that he should have called for a crisis meeting or resign.

"On behalf of Heartland Management and in particular myself who's office was mentioned, I want to debunk as baseless and shameless and height of irresponsibility, the statement credited to our General Manager were he said among many others things, that the office who are responsible to register players did not do so to sabotage the club, it's laughable, it's stupid, it's uncalled for.

"If a Gm of his standard can not call his management to a meeting to discuss, settle things and he results to going to the media, then I think the best thing is to go the media and talk, my defense is very simple.

"In NNL the GM accused me of a lot of things, they did the registrations and that's why we have a mirage of problems most of whom are yet to come up.

"The Commissioner of Sports then in his wisdom apologized to me after learning these and asked me to take over my job but I declined and asked that I do do so when we gain promotion.

"At Asaba, when the need to commit our funds and energy, he couldn't, it on record I committed my money, the former Commissioner, Okoronkwo and Chief Emma Ochiagha, then SA to the Governor on Heartland Matters can bear me wittnessing, I pulled the string, everybody pulled the string and we survived, glory went to everybody.

"When the Governor gave us N100m, truly there was money but how it was shared I don't know. When I got N500,000 I asked my self are they refunding me the money I spent at Asaba which the Commissioner has giving me back. He (Promise) told me it's the share of the N100m and when are asked why we are just getting that he said he doesn't know what the Commissioner is doing with the money.

"When we entered premiership, and was asked to go to Abuja to register players against all odds I came back with 20 licenses, I was able to register 32 players all approved by Coach Obi who is alive to attest to it.

"When the result wasn't coming a committee was set up headed by Ochiagha to thinker the way forward. Casmier Mbachu suggested we bring Imama but I argued instead we go for Kennedy Boboye who is more experienced an has won the league with two different clubs, Plateau United and Akwa United and promise was privy to all these as he gave his nod.

"For people to go and tell Obi that promise wasn't part of it is a lie.

But we got to a stage were the Governor said we bring back Obi and to the glory of God no one can question the Governor so we obliged him and we were all working.

"In mid season we were supposed to go to Abuja to register players but the GM in his own wisdom said no , I should stay in Owerri and to demonstrate my willingness to do the job I obliged. I raised my N200,000 to mobilize Abuja for it but when I was summoned to the office the GM told me there is no money, I said no problem. They said it's N500,000 that was available and I took back my N200,000 and sent the balance of N300,000 to Abuja for the work.

"Even when we wanted to do medicals for the players the GM objected going to Dr Andy Ezefule who doubles as our club doctor instead he suggested we use quarks which I said know.

"I want Imolites to know that Coach Obi gave me 18 names and there were all registered, so it's laughable for someone to say the nonsense in the media.

"The GM told me some people in the management are fetish and I asked do you have evidence and he said Kingsley and ABJ but I said to him these people are not members of the management what is their gain, he said he doesn't know that he is making investigations but that he learnt some members of the management were involved. I said to him summon everyone to a meeting and any one you know that is involved you give him straight to the face, so that sanctions can be melted.

"He even had issues with our going to Awka but when I asked Obaseki we resolved the situation but I now read a press interview were he was accusing his management of being diabolical, fetish and sabotaging the club. In normal cline were things are done honourable, the moment you see that you have lost the dressing room you resign, if you feel your management were hanging up against you you resigne.

"When Hamza left he painted him bad, now Okoronkwo has left he is painting him bad, I wish we all have the opportunity to come and talk and I will say more because it's the GM's ineptitude and clandestine attitude that's is killing Heartland.
