Hot Potatoes In Aba As NPFL Return Throws Up Old Rivalries

..Heartland Ambushes Pillars, Enyimba Awaits 3SC

With the AFCON officially done and dusted in Cote D'Ivoire and with all the outstanding matches of the 2023/24 NPFL first stanza nicked in the bud, the league's second stanza will kick off with two hot Potato games in Aba this Saturday, Infonews.com.ng reports.

A peep at the match day 20 encounters which kicks off this weekend across various league centers throws up very interesting double header at the Enyimba Int'l Stadium, Aba.

In the first game on Saturday, February 17, 2023 banished Heartland FC will hope to ambush long time rivals, Kano Pillars in a revenge mission after they lost their last match day 19 encounter in Kano.

The second appetizer would see the league champions, Enyimba FC host Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) as they will hope to consolidate their climb and continental ambition having beaten the Ibadan landlords right at their backyard.

Both games are indeed traditional encounters and Aba fans no doubt would be thrilled with the best of NPFL actions as the fun spills over to Sunday when another banished side, Abia Warriors will engage Remo Stars in a game that may distort the top side of the NPFL log.

Recall that Heartland FC and Abia Warriors were banished from hosting their home games in Owerri and Umuahia respectively as both venues failed to meet Tv standard as the IMC, league organizers and their partners stipulated.
