"I WILL NOT FAIL OR ABANDON YOU", HON CHISOM OJUKWU ASSURES OWERRE-NKWOJI COMMUNITY

The Member Representing Nkwerre State Constituency at the Imo State House Of Assembly, Hon Barrister  Chisom Ojukwu has assured the people oi Owerre-Nkwoji Community that he would not fail or abandon them.  

Hon Ojukwu, popularly called *Oyinatumba* made the pledge when he received his constituents from Owerre-Nkwoji community, who came on a courtesy visit on thursday, 22/02/2024.  He also pledged to continue with his people oriented legislation, assuring that his coming to the State House of Assembly was simply to serve God and humanity. 

In his words, " You came to me because you love and respect me. I came to this 10th House after you gave me your votes and I was declared winner. As soon as I was inaugurated in June 2023, I set in motion programmes that would benefit and uplift Nkwerre and the State. I made history as the first Honourable Member of the 10th House to move a Motion, and it was unanimously adopted. Nkwerre made history on that day. Since then, I have sponsored and co-sponsored  many other Motions and Bills that is affecting and touching the lives of the  people of Imo State positively. Today, I am the House Committee Chairman on Budget and Appropriation", Oyinatumba explained.     

"Umunnem na Umunnam, I didn't stop at that. In the last 8 months of my inauguration,  I appointed 25 sons and daughters of Nkwerre, spread across the political wards, as my Special Assistants. I have  also recommended many of our sons and daughters for state and federal jobs.  In the 2024  WAEC and JAMB registration exercise, I sponsored free WAEC and JAMB enrollment  for hundreds of  our sons and daughters, bearing in mind the  economic challenges facing many families. So you can see I didn't come to the Assembly to play, but to serve you selflessly and dutifully. You gave me support, and it is my turn to support you. I will not fail  or abandon you. Trust me", Hon Ojukwu further assured. 

While tasking them to continue to support the SharedProsperity leadership of His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodimma, he charged them to remain steadfast, revealing the development plans of the governor for Nkwerre.  "Governor  Hope Uzodimma is seriously interested in working and developing the state, particularly Nkwerre.  You will get your reward for supporting him". 

 Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Chief Charles Chukwukere, had  explained the reason for their visit. According to him, "we came to know your office and to interface with you on areas of concern. During the campaigns, you promised us appointments and board memberships. We have come to remind you. You are part of us and you are our own ".

For Hon Chris Egonu, who is a  political leader in Owerre-Nkwoji community, He spoke glowingly of the Honourable Member, acknowledging his legislative  achievements within 8 months of his inauguration. He also thanked him for sponsoring the registration of  Nkwerre sons and daughters in the JAMB and WAEC registration exercise.

Chief Johnson Nwazuruoke meanwhile, appreciated the humble lawmaker for receiving them with open arms. He prayed Almighty God to continue to guide and lead him  in his legislative journey.
