Mbaitoli Lawmaker, Engr Ikpamezie Moves To Restore Sanity, Moral Decadence & Security In Area

..Charges Town Union PGs To Be Steadfast

Bouncing from the success of the recently restored peace in  Mbieri Community in Mbaitoli Local Government Area, which he  initiated and spearheaded,  the Member Representing Mbaitoli State Constituency at the Imo State House Of Assembly, Hon Engr Innocent Ikechukwu Ikpamezie has moved to restore sanity, discipline, fight insecurity and moral decadence  in the entire Mbaitoli local government area.

Speaking during a meeting with the Town Union President Generals at the Imo State House Of Assembly complex, Hon Engr Ikpamezie decried the moral decadence,  insecurity  and unwholesome activities in the area. He charged the President Generals to be steadfast, live up to expectation and collaborate with the State Government and security agencies in restoring sanity and in fishing out  those involved in unwholesome activities  in Mbaitoli.

In his words, the peace and sanity-seeking lawmaker said, *"There is moral decadence in the society. While our boys are being tempted to follow the fast lane, thereby indulging in unwholesome activities that threaten the peace of the society, our girls dress provocatively, thereby encouraging moral decadence.  This wasn't so in the past. We have lost concentration. Let us therefore rearrange ourselves to bring calmness in our communities. But how can we rearrange ourselves, when some President Generals don't even live in their communities? Some of them don't even visit home, to know what is going on. Some President Generals are not on the same page with their traditional rulers. Please, let us come together, to set the common achievable goal and make things right in our communities".

Hon Ikpamezie, who is also  the Chairman of House  Committee on Environment  further bemoaned the rise in cultism and drug addiction , which according to him has led to less concentration   in school  activities. He therefore enjoined the President Generals to join in the fight against these anti-social activities, by reporting suspected  persons  to security agents and to the state government. Hon  Ikpamezie insisted that these anti-social activities (cultism and drug addiction)  are what breeds insecurities and threaten academic activities in schools. *"Teachers are even afraid to discipline erring students because parents and siblings come to schools to fight teachers. This is the time for us to fight these moral decadence in Mbaitoli. We need to bring back Moral Instruction to our schools. I want to reactivate your consciousness. So go back to your communities and take charge. We need massive restoration of our value system. When you take charge in your  communities  and collaborate with security agents and government,  criminal elements  will be on the run",* Hon Engr Innocent  Ikpamezie pleaded.

Furthermore, the action and result-oriented lawmaker  assured the President Generals that he would meet with Traditional  Rulers in Mbaitoli  to discuss same issues of concern, after which there would be an enlarged meeting in Mbaitoli involving Traditional Rulers, President Generals,  Security Agents and Other concerned Stakeholders, on the way forward.  On security, Hon Ikpamezie assured that youths would be involved and would be inaugurated at the Council headquarters, Nworieubi, by the Traditional Rulers, President Generals and the Police as community vigilante.

Appreciating Hon Engr Ikpamezie for his steadfastness in ensuring the security,  progress and development of Mbaitoli,  some of the President Generals made useful submissions, while insisting that  youths who would be engaged in security must be properly profiled and trained.
