Aftermath of Abacheke Killings: Imo CP, Danjuma Parleys With Stakeholders, Deploys Water Tight Security

In furtherance of his unflinching dedication and community Policing approach to combatting crime, the Commissioner Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma on Monday, 11/03/2024, convened a crucial security meeting with the stakeholders of Abacheke Community in Ohaji/Egbema LGA at the palace of the traditional ruler of Abacheke Community, HRH Eze Ikeji Bright, Eze Osichi Orumara, over the recent gruesome murder of some residents of Abacheke community by gunmen.

The all-important meeting is in line with the directives of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D. NPM, and provided an opportunity for the stakeholders to cross-fertilize ideas aimed at enhancing the security and well-being of the good people of Abacheke and other Communities in the State.

Attendance at the interactive meeting includes the immediate past Minister of State for Education, Rt. Hon. Goodluck Nanah Opiah, the Traditional Ruler of Abacheke Community and members of his cabinet, youths, and women leaders of the Community.

Speaking at the meeting, the Traditional Ruler of Abacheke Community appreciated the Commissioner of Police for his relentless efforts in improving the security situation of the State. He assured the CP of continuous collaboration via provision of actionable intelligence that will assist in flushing out criminally minded elements from his Community, while the immediate Past Minister of State Education stated that Abacheke is a peace-loving community and is ever ready to support the Police and other security agencies in sustaining the peace and security that is cherished in the Community.

Consequently, the Commissioner of Police immediately deployed operatives of the Command’s Tactical Team to embark on robust visibility policing in synergy with operatives of Ohaji/Egbema Area Command, Divisions, and Local Vigilantes and clamp down on the hoodlums responsible for the attack. The CP warned the operatives to be civil to the residents of Ohaji/Egbema and adhere strictly to the standard operational procedure of the Force while discharging their lawful duties.

The Command, therefore, urged members of the public in Ohaji/Egbema, particularly Abacheke to go about their lawful business without any form of fear or intimidation and not panic at the massive deployment of security operatives.

The Commissioner of Police advised the residents of Abacheke to embrace Community Policing concepts and support the Police in the fight against all forms of crimes and criminality by reporting any suspicious person seen or clandestine activities observed within their vicinity to the nearest Police Station or via.

To this end, CP Danjuma reaffirmed that the Command under his watch is relentless in its commitment to ensuring that the entire State is adequately secured and protected.
