All Africa Games: Flying Eagles, Falconets Over Power South Sudan, Senegal Respectively


 


Nigeria's representatives at the football events of the ongoing All Africa Games in Ghana both men and women, the Flying Eagles and Falconets yesterday recorded wins


Reports available to Infonews.com.ng states that, the Flying Eagles yesterday laboured to a 1-0 win over South Sudan.


Recall that the Junior Eagles lost to Uganda in the group opener and needed to win at all cost.


The first stanza ended goaless as both sides couldn’t break the deadlock.


Sadiq Isyaka’s 80th-minute penalty ensured the maximum points.




As it stands, Flying Eagles must beat Senegal who lost to Uganda yesterday in the last group game.


Meanwhile, Falconets of Nigeria have qualified for the semi-final of the ongoing African games in Ghana after hammering Senegal by four goals to nil. 


Goals from Loveth Edeh, Motunrayo Ezekiel, Chioma Olise, and an own goal secured the win.


Under the tutelage of coach Chris Danjuma, the Falconets kicked off their campaign with a 2-0 victory over Morocco last Friday. 


They continued their winning streak by defeating Senegal 4-0, accumulating six points from two games and securing the top spot in the group standings.
