Easter Security: Imo Police Nab Deadly Kidnapper, Notorious Cultist, Arms & Ammunition Recovered

 

The proactive security measures deployed by the Imo State Police Command for the Easter celebration celebrations across the State is yielding significant results. 

This is evident in the recent arrest of two notorious suspects including a kidnapper kingpin and a deadly cultist, famous on the Command’s wanted list due to several heinous crimes they allegedly perpetrated in the State alongside their criminal cohorts. 

The suspected serial kidnapper, Richard Ebony aka (Linking), ‘m’ 28yrs, was arrested in his criminal hideout at Agbala in Owerri North LGA of Imo State, by operatives of the Command’s Anti Kidnapping Unit (Tiger Base), after an intense follow-up to a diligently gathered actionable intelligence and data tracking analysis by the determined operatives. One automatic pump action gun loaded with six rounds of live ammunition was recovered from the suspect. 

On interrogation, he confessed to being the gang leader of a deadly kidnapping syndicate terrorizing the good people of Imo State and admitted that he masterminded thirteen different kidnapping attacks in the State including the kidnap of the following individuals, 1). a 79-year-old Mrs Iren Okereafor, on 12/06/2018, 2). Mrs Victoria Uwanwa, on 12/11/2019, 3). Uchenna Iroakazi, on 6/12/2019, 4). Justina Nwanna on 20/05/2018, and other prominent individuals.  The suspect is currently in police custody and has provided useful information to the Police that will assist in the arrest of his syndicate at large.

On the other hand, Chukwuemeka Peter Ekechi, ‘m’, a suspected deadly cultist was arrested on 28/03/2024, in a well-coordinated strike by the ever gallant operatives of Nekede Divisional Headquarters Crack Squad Unit, who were complimented by the local vigilantes. Chukwuemeka confessed to being a member of the Black Axe Confraternity and is currently assisting the determined operative in the ongoing comprehensive investigation.

The arrest of the suspects underscores the Command’s unflinching dedication to stemming the tide of violent crimes in the State and ensuring the safety and security of all its law-abiding residents during the Easter season and beyond. 

While assuring members of the public that the suspects will certainly have their day in Court, the Commissioner of Police Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma beckons on the good people of Imo State to remain security conscious in the seasons of Easter and join hands with the Police and other security agencies in the fight against crime and criminality in the State.

CP Aboki Danjuma reiterates that the Command under his watch will continue to uphold the core values of professionalism, transparency, and respect for the fundamental human rights of citizens while effectively maintaining law and order and providing maximum safety and security for the good people of Imo State.
