Enyimba Hitman, Sets Eye On League Title, Golden Boot Award

 

As the 2023/24 NPFL season enters it's business end, striker Enyimba FC striker, Chijioke Mbaoma has set his eyes on getting the league title and Golden Boot award. 

Despite having a slow start to the season the People's Elephant seems to have regained momentum and they are back in contention for the league.

While speaking to a senior sports Correspondent, Mbaoma said he has the intention of winning the double.

“I’ll be very excited to get the double, win the league and also win the highest goal scorer award. It will be even more because that will be the 10th as well as back-to-back titles for me and the club.

“From the onset, I always wanted to win the award. I didn’t get carried away by the number of goals the other players scored before me. I have always believed I will get to the top of the chart. I have 11 now and I am looking forward to more.

“And honestly, I wasn’t looking at the NPFL record at the start of the season, but you never can tell how things might turn out, especially with the competition we have,” he said.

Mbaoma is presently tied on 11 goals with Sikiru Alimi of Remo Stars.

The People's Elephant' next takes on Doma United this Sunday at the Enyimba Int'l Stadium, Aba in one of the NPFL match day 25 encounters.
