Imo CP, Danjuma Moves To Restore Peace In Troubled Imo Communities

..Visits Massive Reconstruction of Div Headquarters In Agwa, Izombe





In a bid to restore peace and enhance the security of Agwa, Izombe, and Ejemekwuru communities in Oguta Council of Imo State, the Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Aboki Danjuma on Friday, 22nd March embarked on a significant visit to the vulnerable communities in the council area and engaged the stakeholders in a constructive dialogue over improving the safety and security of their respective communities.

 

According to a release made Public by the state Police Command PPRO, Henry Okoye, the Commissioner of Police alongside top officers of the command and chieftains of the communities inspected the ongoing reconstruction of Agwa and Izombe Police Divisional Police Headquarters which was razed down by gunmen suspected to be members of the outlawed IPOB/ESN in 2022. The CP pledged full support to the massive reconstruction and full functionality of divisional headquarters which he said will go a long way in checkmating the activities of criminally minded elements in the Communities.


CP Aboki Danjuma reiterated the unwavering commitment of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM to embracing proactive community policing strategies in combating insecurity in Imo State, asserting that the IGP has approved the immediate deployment of adequately equipped operatives to Agwa Divisional Headquarters upon completion of the ongoing renovations.


The CP lauded the contributions made by the State Government and some public-spirited individuals including Mr. Faith Mbah, a USA-based industrialist, members of Agwa Central Union and Agwa Diaspora Forum (ADF) under the leadership of Dr. Humphrey Ugo in renovating the division and restoring peace and security in the Area.


HRH Eze Basil Uba of Mgbala Agwa, HRH Eze Chima Azubuike, Uba Agwa Community, HRH Eze S. O. Onuegbu, Mbano Agwa community, Chief Nduka Ozoh, National Treasurer, ACU and Barr. Benson Akunya, President General of Agwa Central Union thanked the IGP and the Imo CP for their intervention and support towards tackling the security issues of their area and assured the Command of continuous support to the police and other security agencies in their relentless effort to stamp out of all forms of crimes and criminality in the State.


To this end, the Commissioner of Police while reiterating the command’s commitment to implementing strategies that will enhance the overall peace and security in Imo State encourages residents of Izombe, Agwa, Ejemekwuru and other areas in Oguta LGA who have fled their communities out of fear and anxiety to please return home and support the Police and other sister security agencies with information in winning the war against all form of crime and criminality in the State.
