Early season rain is usually greeted with joy and happiness by farmers in villages but this cannot be said of a particular community in Amaraku, Isiala Mbano LGA of Imo State following the flood that killed on Child and injured two on Wednesday.
What started like a normal rain fall at about 4pm in the evening gradually became a heavy down pour which flooded the road leading from Umuobasi in Amaraku to Abajah junction also in Amaraku Isiala Mbano LGA.
The sudden rain though welcomed by many because of the intense hit people have been passing through unfortunately left one of the families in Umuobasi in agony after the flood swept way their child who's dead body was later found at Mbaa River in Ugiri Village also in Isiala Mbano LGA.
An eye witness who narrated the incident to Infonews.com.ng said one the children taken by the flood was sent on an errand shortly the rain started while another who was apparently playing under the rain was carried suddenly by the heavy current of the flood.
He continued that another victim (a grown man) was cought by the flood while trying to rescue one the child as the current of the flood swept him and left him injured after he was rescued.
"My brother it was a horrible incident as two children were carried by flood while a man who attempted to rescue one of the child was also carried.
"One of the child was rescued and is recuperating at the hospital while the other wasn't lucky enough as he was later found dead at Mbaa river in Ugiri Village.
"The young man was luckily intercepted at the Amaraku junction before the flood could course more havoc.
