Finally, Ihedioha Quits PDP Over Party Issues






Ex Imo Governor and former Deputy Reps Speaker, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha has finally said good buy to the People's Democratic Party, PDP.


According to a resignation letter addressed to the Chairman Mbutu Ward PDP Party Chairman in Imo state which was made public today, Tuesday April 23, 2024 the three times Reps Member for Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency he sighted variances with his personal beliefs in the party as his reasons for resigning.


He said his efforts to offer councel, the party is regrettably no longer able to carry out internal reforms, enforce its own rules or offer credible opposition to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.


Parts of the resignation letter reads;


"Since 1988, I have contributed my quota to development and transformation of the People's Democratic Party, PDP as one of the founding members. All these years I have taken pride on the fact that PDP is a party that will always look inward for internal reforms and provide credible leadership for the people, whether on power or outside power.


"Regrettably, in recent times, the party has taken a part that is at variance with my personal beliefs. Despite my attempt to offer councel, the party is sadly no longer able to carry out internal reforms,  enforce its own rules or offer credible opposition to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.


"It is in the light of the forgoing, that i am compelled to offer my resignation from the People's Democratic Party, PDP effective immediately.


"While this decision was difficult to take, i, however, believe that it is the right one". Parts of the resignation letter read.


The Mbaise born politician also said despite the resignation he is always available to offer his services to the deepning democracy and good governance in Nigeria.
