Mothers Day: Catholic Priest Charge Mothers To Live Examplary Life

The Parish Priest of St Anthony's Catholic Church Umuezukwe Awo-omamma in Oru East LGA of Imo State,Rev Fr.Sebastain Mgbe,has charged mothers to live examplary life Worthy of emulation.

The clergyman stated this in his homily during the Mothers Day celebration on Sunday April 14,2024.

The cleric frowned at  attitude of some mothers, pointing out that if mothers behave well,their children will take good care of them.

He said that some mothers went hungry,wore one wrapper just to train their children, stressing that children should celebrate and appreciate their mothers while they are alive.

Father Ogbuehi as he is fondly called, urged men to take good care of their wives, revealing that a man that looks healthy is an indication that the wife is taking good care of him.

He urged mothers to eschew behaviours that will bring their reputation to question, pointing out that some mothers are known for their bad behaviours and misconduct in their vicinity.

He urged those involved in such acts to desist from it and turn a good leaf.

Fr.Ogbuehi frowned at dogma by some pastors all in the name of religion and queried the rationale behind a woman over 70 years of age indulging in dry fasting.

He  pray God to bless their efforts and endeavours as mothers.

The Catholic women of the parish were led by their president,Mrs Ifeyinwa Onyikwa as they presented their gifts in thanksgiving for the Mothers Day celebration.

The occasion seemingly witnessed the sale of blessed candles, signifying light of God in their various homes.

It would be recalled that the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, mapped out second Sunday after Easter for Mothers Day celebration .
