That Backyard Boardroom Point Deduction Against Enyimba
_..Since When, Did The Law Permit Abandonment of A Match?
..Who Did Enyimba Offend?
Okereke Igbokwe Writes From UK
I have followed with kin interest and admiration the the nascent improvement and success so far recorded by the Nigerian Professional Football League, NPFL.
This is also inclusive of the professionalism that some of our football management authorities have brought into some of the clubs in the league including that of Enyimba and Enugu Rangers which makes it obvious why both teams are enjoying the success in the league so far.
However, it appears some powers that be are not comfortable with the continued success of the People's Elephant' under the able guideance of Kanu Papilo Nwankwo "FIFA Ambassador".
This is so as the recent ruling of a match that the club has since been punished heavily for offences that they didn't commit.
Following the outlined offences alleged against Enyimba FC in the said NPFL encounter against Doma United, it is very mischievous the way a goal which it's video went viral and everyone adjudged it as a clear goal was now said to be an offside.
This kind of rulings simply has threads of "Pull Enyimba Down" written all over it because according to the rules, they were fined N7m and had their fans banished for three consecutive home games.
One begins to wonder how Doma United is now justified after abandoning a game and Assaulted a match official (Assistant Referee) they by puting the league into disrepute can now be said to merit a point from a game they didn't finish.
The question is who did the People's Elephant' offended and why this injustice on a team that has played by the rule book and even suffered lots of unfair officiating of their games both home and away.
This certainly is not how to Develop our league and the authorities have so much questions to answer!
