President Fed Cup 2024: 10-Man Enyimba Scales One Rocket Hurdle For Round of 16 Place

Enyimba FC on Wednesday secured a place in the round of 16 of the 2024 President's Federation Cup after beating NNL Side, FC One Rocket 1- 0.

Chijioke Mbaoma's first half strike was enough for the NPFL defending Champions who saw their goalkeeper, Ani Ozoemena sent off in the second stanza of the round of 32 encounter decided at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenegoa, Bayelsa State.

The NPFL defending Champions with 10 men were forced to protect their solitary strike with all their experience and almost doubled their lead but for near misses by Somiari Alalibo and the NPFL joint leading top scorer, Mbaoma.

Reacting after the encounter to Enyimba Media, Mbaoma Expressed his excitement and joy for securing the winning goal noting that helping his team is his hobby and that it what he signed for.

"I feel excited finding myself on the score sheet again, I feel very great.

"Helping my team is my hubby, that's what  i signed for.

Enyimba will next be guest on Sunday to their Sister side, Abia Warriors in one of the NPFL match day 35 encounters as the league resumes.
