Enyimba Condemned For Victory Against Plateau UTD To Earn Continental Ticket - Coach Yema

..As Sporting Loss Derails Elephants Aspiration 

Following the teams capitulation in it's last two league games against Bayelsa United at home and Sporting Lagos, Coach Yemi Olarenwaju has insisted that his team is condemned to win it's last league game.

Reacting to the media after the away loss in Lagos, Coach Yema said the break down his boys had after the ill fated game against Rangers FC in Enugu is still affecting them mentally adding that their performance since after the game doesn't reflect the stuff of champions.

He maintained that they are struggling mentally to recover from the ugly incidents at Enugu pointing out that Sporting Lagos deserved to win the game as they were more determined to win more than them.

While expressing his unhappiness at the loss, he blamed the mistake that led to them conceeding what he termed as a cheap goal 6 minutes to the end of the encounter.

When asked how important the last game in Aba against Plateau United FC is to his side, he toed the lines of the holy scriptures "the afflictions shall not arise the second time", saying the People's Elephant' can't afford to toil with the game as it's the last hope they have for the continent adding that the boys know what's expected of them.

"It has been hell, I don't know, the break down we had after Rangers game it's disappointing that we couldn't recover mentally cause you could still see this is not the team that has been playing all through the season.

"We are struggling mentally and am not really happy but to be candid, I don't think we deserve to win today, because Sporting showed they wanted it more.

"If we wanted it more, we  won't conceed that goal at 39th minute of second half, just 6 minutes to go and you conceed give away that kind of cheep goal, no no no, that's not that's not the stuff of a champion honestly speaking so Sporting deserved to win.

"Yeah they say the afflictions shall not arise the second time, we can't afford to toil with the game because that's the last hope we have, just win and go to the continental.

"The players, everybody knows what is at stake, we can't compromise. We must give everything to win and get the three maximum points, anything except that we have failed the the fans, it's a must for us", Coach Yema concluded.

Chijioke Mbaoma had brought the defending Champions back in the game through a Sports kick for his 16th goal of the season after he was fowled inside the box but some poor defending towards the end of the second stanza gave Sporting the second and the win.

Enyimba will on that last day of league games (match day 38) take on Plateau United FC in Aba as they seek to remain in the continent with a victory and nothing but a victory.
