Prince Ogbonna Excited With Quality Of Players In Talent Hunt Screening Exercise

The Imo state Sports Commission Chairman, Prince Sir Eleazar Onyewuchi Ogbonna "Ambassador" has expressed his delight over the qualities of talent on display in the on going Imo State Talent Hunt programme for the European Exhibition Professional Football tour in Spain later this year.

Prince Ogbonna who made this expression after he and the Imo State Sports Commissioner, Hon Obinna Evarestus Onyeocha visited the training session at the Old Township stadium, Owerri maintained that sports globally remains a veritable and viable sector for youth empowerment.

The ex -professional player who had successful career in the Italian Seria A before venturing into business said he has always been delighted in using sports as a means of getting the youths off the street.

He said the youth empowerment programme of His Excellency Distinguished Sen Hope Uzodimma and the Shared Prosperity 3R mantra is very evident in the Talent Hunt screening exercise his Commission in collaboration with the State Ministry Sports is currently undertaking to harness talents and take the youths of social vices.

The Talent Hunt side recently defeated Heartland FC Junior team in a friendly encounter and are billed to play more friendlies this week before they will embark on closed camping with selected players.

The team will in July fly to Spain for a European Professional Football Exhibition Tour.
