2024 Council Poll: Imo SWAN Member, Ahize Promises Ozara Ward Effective Representation

 

As the race for the Imo council polls draws closer, the All Progressive congress (APC) councilorship aspirant of Ozara ward, Honourable Ahize Nnamdi Anthony has assured the people of Ozara ward of good and effective representation at the Oru West Local government council if he emerges victorious at the polls.

Ahize made this known in his written manifesto ahead of the party primaries which was made available to newsmen yesterday.

Ahize in his 8 point agenda assured Ozara community that he will do everything within his power to ensure that there is peace in the community and he will drive community development through the youths of the community and also help to empower the Ozara youths through every means necessary.

In his exact words in the manifesto to ndi Ozara titled, Aku Anyi Ruo Ulo, Ahize wrote;

“As the race for who will emerge the councilor of Ozara ward at the local government council roars on, it will interest Ndi Ozara to know that I Ahize Nnamdi Anthony (The People’s Choice) is the best choice taking into cognizance my eight point agenda which includes the following:

1. Youth Empowerment

2. Credibility

3. Effective Representation

4. Accessibility

5. Responsibility

6. Transparency

7. Accountability

8. Peace Building

This 8 point agenda will largely represent my scope of operation during my stay in office and it will serve as a blueprint for me if I’m eventually elected the councilor of Ozara ward.

Having outlined this agendas in clear form, I will give further insight and elaborate more on things i will do that falls under this various open agenda.

1. YOUTH EMPOWERMENT:

The Youths has always been a major backbone  that drives development in every community and to this effect, my primary target will be to empower the Youths through every means necessary to further aid community development.
I will provide funds for the youths on monthly basis  from my personal fund which they can channel into business enterprises and other key projects in the community. I will also ensure that most of our youths are meaningfully engaged.

2. CREDIBILITY:

If i assume the office of the councilor Ozara Ward, i will lead by example and will consistently deliver on promises made to my people in the course of this journey. I will demonstrate integrity and ethics. I will inspire trust, confidence and loyalty to governance once again and I will create an environment where people will feel valued, loved and supported by the government.

3. EFFECTIVE REPRESENTATION:

As a councilor of Ozara ward, i will imbibe an all inclusive governance by actively listening and Understanding the needs and concerns of the people of Ozara ward which I represent.
I will Share the feelings and perspectives of Ozarians both home and abroad.
I will Clearly communicate their interests and needs and also Champion their causes and rights.
I will show Cultural competence by Understanding and respecting diverse backgrounds and experiences which will serve as a blueprint in my bid as Ozara representative at the local council.
I will continue to Stay informed and up-to-date on issues affecting Ozara ward.

4. ACCESSIBILITY:

Being approachable and available are key factors in this business and so far in this race for councilorship, everyone who has had an encounter with me can guarantee that i am very approachable and give everyone listening ears. This has always been my style and I guarantee Ozarians that it will continue and there will be specific days in the week that will be scheduled for general consultations which will aid effective representation.

5. RESPONSIBILITY:

I will prioritize the greater good, foster a positive culture, and build trust for grassroot governance.
I will strive to create lasting, positive impacts while minimizing harm.
I will find a way in Making choices that balance short-term needs with long-term goals with minimal or no long term consequences and also Manage resources responsibly for future generations.
I will continue to Embrace change and learn from failures. I will ensure Fairness in Ozara by Ensuring equal opportunities and treatment.

6. TRANSPARENCY :

As a councilor of this great ward Ozara, it will no longer be business as usual and the actions of representatives should not be shrouded in secrecy. I will always Share informations clearly and honestly and i will Consistently Ensure that actions align with words.
I will also Encourage and act on constructive criticisms.
Data-driven decisions will be made by Sharing data and logic behind choices.
Regular updates and Providing timely progress reports will be the new order in Ozara.

7. ACCOUNTABILITY :

Holding your representatives accountable is your right as a citizen of this community and that right will never be denied under my watch. Just recently someone mentioned same days back in the OPU platform.
Because we the members of the community do not rise to the occasion of holding the government accountable and that is why most politicians take the citizen for a ride. To this set of politicians, public offices are now national cake. To this effect, i will ensure adequate accountability by encouraging constructive feedback and criticisms and by Taking ownership of decisions and actions. I will be answerable to stakeholders  and organizations in this structure such as Ozara youths, village chairmen and elders, OPU both home and abroad, OWPU, council of chiefs and elders, religious organizations and any other structure that makes up Ozara. All allocations, palliatives or every other rightful belongings of the community must  come to ozara and the utilization and distribution which will be done fairly will be supervised by me, since i will be held responsible. Like i keep repeating, it will no longer be business as usual (Aku Anyi Ruo Ulo).

8. PEACE BUILDING : This

I intentionally saved the best for the last because without this last agenda, every other agenda will suffer.
Ozara has endured relative peace in recent times and much appreciation goes to the youths of Ozara for upholding this peace.
My aim is to improve on this peace and find solutions to honest lasting peace.
I added ‘Honest Peace’ because calmness does not necessarily mean total peace, because there could still be some concealed agitations buried in the heart which is more like a ticking time bomb.
By prioritizing peace building as a councilor of Ozara ward, I can create a harmonious and productive environment, leading to increased collaboration, creativity, and success. Therefore in other to achieve Honest peace, Understanding diverse perspectives and needs is key.
Encouraging open communication is another factor.
I may not be a conflict resolution manager but I will employ the help of professionals to help ensure Conflict resolution by Addressing issues through constructive dialogue, gradual negotiations and eventual resolutions. I am going to Foster a sense of belonging for everyone and value in diversity.
There will be inclusive participation in decision making.
I will make honest efforts in Healing past wounds and rebuilding trust among conflicting brothers, families, kindreds and villages then afterwards build collaborations, partnerships or coalitions.
In doing this, I will put on the garment of patience as i Approach challenging situations with calmness and understanding.
I will also ibibe the moral courage to Stand up for what is right, even in difficult situations.
Together as a team, we will Create a peaceful and productive work environments in Ozara ward.

Having noted this, I want to assure ndi Ozara that this is not mere lip service or empty promises of a desperate politician, this are facts of my true intentions and i would like you all to know that my word is my bond. Give me your support and together we shall make Ozara greater than it is today.Further more, i would entertain any question that falls within the scope of this context and would gladly give answers to the best of my knowledge.
