Awka 2024: Tawkwell-SEWFA League Kicks Off August 11th

..As Teams Intensify Preparations 2nd Edition

Baring last minute uncertainties, all is now set for the second edition of the South East Women Football Association SEWFA League.

According to a release made public by SEWFA Media, the annual league which is designed by like minds of Female football proprietors and stakeholders in the South East States comprising of Anambra, Abia, Enugu, Ebonyi and Imo will kick of on Sunday August 11th, 2024 with arrival of the teams.

With about 15 teams expected to take part in the exciting "Girl Child" development tournament  through football, the draws of the league will follow suit also on Sunday August 11th while the kick off proper is expected to commence on Monday August 12th, 2024 by 10am just as the competition ends on Saturday August 24th, 2024.

Some of the teams expected to take part in the biggest Female football league East of the Niger has in earnest began preparations with friendlies as Giant Empress FC hosted Imo Striker Queens FC in Aba just as First Mahi Babes had a similar encounter against Solo Wonders (UKF) in Abajah, Nwangele LGA. Also Green Foot SA in Enugu had clashed earlier with new entrants, Zohar FA while in the clash of Angels, Awka Angels FC in Anambra entertained Dynamite Angels FC.

Other teams that are expected to take part in the SEWFA League include; Imo Striker Queens Jnrs Imo, GP-World FA Nnewi, Bright Future Queens Enugu, Little Bird FC Anambra, Pepsi FA Aba, Rising Stars FC Ojoto, Abia Angels FC, Imo Babes FC and Heartland Queens FC.

Heartland Queens FC are the defending and maiden champions after they beat Imo Striker Queens FC in the final of first edition which was hosted by Owerri City, Imo State last year while Awka Angels placed 3rd haven defeated First Mahi Babes in the third place encounter.
