Don't Reappoint People Who Relegated Heartland - Ex-Imo FA Boss, Amanze Advices Gov Uzodimma

The Immediate past chairman of Imo State Football Association, Mazi Amanze Uchegbulam has called on Governor Hope Uzodimma not to reappoint the people who caused the relegation of Heartland back to the management.

Uchegbulam made the call while reacting on the appointment of Emmanuel Amuneke as the Technical Adviser of Heartland football club.

He said "Those who put us in this mess should never be allowed to go near that club again.

They brought unhappiness to Ndi Imo, because our joy is the Heartland football club.

"For these set of guys who have taken us to relegation on two occasions, there should be consequences for failure and my recommendation is that they should not be allowed to go near that club again.

I recommend that they should never be allowed to go near that club again.

"Whatever is the political condition, they should tell them not to go near that club again. Governor should tell them not to move near that club again", Amanze stated.

According to the seasoned football administrator, Heartland is not a local side and its worrisome that for a club at that level, they don't have a structure, no club house, no training pitch, nothing to show that the club has been existing from Spartans to Iwuanyanwu National and now to Heartland FC which is not good at all.

My suggestion is that Government should look for experienced football administrators that are Imolites, who can help and put a structure in that club. The governor should please allow Amuneke to restructure the club", Uchegbulam said.

"The last time we played continental we got to the final level at Congo in 2009 and that was when the club management worked closely with FA when I was the chairman. I heard Amuneke is working closely with the chairman and they should allow him to.

"We played the continental to the final stage of CAF. But this management team did what? He put us in this mess? He did not recognize the FA. He did not know that the FA is important. The people that took us to relegation, they know themselves whether coach or general manager or whoever was in charge when the club went on relegation should not come near that club again because they did a bad job. They are only concerned about their pocket and they brought sadness to Imo people because we are not happy that we are going to play lower division. Those people should keep clear that club and look for something else to do".

The former First Vice President of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), commended governor Uzodimma for the appointment of Amuneke who he maintained will turn around the club if given a free hand to run the club.

"I want to say that first of all, I want to commend the Governor for the intervention and bringing Amuneke who has the experience to come and structure the club. It's a good move, I commend it".

Further, he commended Amuneke for accepting the job noting that he had implicit confidence in the former international footballer.

"I want to commend Amuneke for accepting to come home and restructure his home club, that gives us happiness. That's good of Amuneke. It's a good gesture and I commend him highly for it, because he is a national team material. He is very experienced, a national l team material. For him to accept to come and do the job means he loves the state very well, and I commend him", Uchegbulam said.

Meanwhile, he called on the Imo FA chairman, Barrister Ifeanyi Dike to support Amuneke and help the coach lead Heartland to her pride of place and achieve glory.
