'Classmigo', an AI-learning syllabic platform for primary and secondary schools students has been officially launched in Owerri, the Imo state capital, on Wednesday.

The platform, according to the CEO, Chinedu Chimezie Mendel, is readily accessed online and increasingly being operated by millions of users across the continent.

The London-based internet expert while speaking at the launch held at Rockview Hotel Owerri, said the platform is an online syllabus meant for primary and secondary schools students in West Africa.

According to him, "classmigo helps in improving cognitive development, critical thinking skills for students, and can be used in the classroom to aid in engagement."

Part of its special features, he listed, were a video library that aligns with Nigerian school curriculum for both primary and secondary schools, an in-depth, but easy to understand explanation and lessons that also aligns with the Nigerian standard curriculum among other distinguishing features.

Mendel, who hails from Awomama in Oru-east LGA of Imo state, further underscored the importance of the platform which he said would lessen the burden of teachers in both primary and secondary schools across Africa.

He said, "the platform is customized and personalized for the targeted students depending on their ages and level. Our lessons are categorized by grades to ensure every learner learns what is appropriate to their levels.

"This initiative, you will agree with me, will go a long way in making the job of a teacher less cumbersome. This is so because if every students can access the platform online and study it, I bet the teacher will be having a less strenuous time with the students. The platform has all the government -approved syllabic and curricular activities requisite for primary and secondary schools students in Nigeria and Africa at large.

"You can access Classmigo by searching www.classmigo.com and using the google playstore to search for Classmigo and also download it. You can also register as a student and sign up, the process is very simple. Because it's personalized, you register students individually using a single account for each.

"You have three days to study the app and given free access to it after which you subscribe 1000 for a period of 30 days. We have over 6000 videos on the platform which will worth their while. Each student will be assigned to a personal mentor and have access to Classmigo quizzes where best performing students are given prizes such as laptops and scholarships."

A co-founder, John Ihejieto, in an interview said the idea was to avail all students both in urban and rural areas the opportunity to quality education.

He said that the initiative will go a long way in discouraging truancy and other juvenile delinquencies among primary and secondary schools across Africa and urged parents to key their children and wards into such initiative.

Speaking at the launch, the Imo state Commissioner for Youth Development and Talent Hunt, Dr. Emeka Mandela, hailed the initiative and described it as a threshold for educational success.

Mandela who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr. Lady Dorothy Ekeoma Mirigwe, urged the founder, Chinedu Mendel, to be more focused in his efforts to standardize the learning process in primary and secondary institutions across Africa.

He pledged government support to the initiative.

Also in an interview, Dr. Eke Jamike, the former Principal of Government College Owerri, applauded the founder for the wonderful initiative, and urged him to partner the media for robust publicity.
