Nike, Ikeduru Anglican Diocese Mourn Rowland Agoha

The memories of Friday 23rd August,2024, will continue to linger in the hearts of Agoha family of Umuezekom Amatta Ikeduru LGA,Imo State,as their brother, uncle, father and husband, Rowland Iheanyichukwu Agoha was laid to rest.

His journey to eternity started with a funeral church service held at All Saints Anglican Church, Umuezekom Amatta, with over 40 clergys in attendance.

Addressing Christian faithful and mourners in his sermon on behalf of the Anglican bishop of Nike Diocese, Venerable  Chigozie Igwemba, said that the deceased touched many lifes while on earth not just in his community ,but also in Enugu where he lived and especially the Cathedral Church of St Cyprian Nike.

He noted that the funeral service is the last crusade organized by Rowland.

Taking his Bible reading from John 3:1-3, noted that there is hour of departure for every soul, stressing on need for people to be born again.

The man of God stated that some people live careless life as if they are the owners of their souls, pointing out that they little material things they have acquired on earth make them not to know that there is a day of departure.

"It will be sorrowful when your hour will come and you are met not prepared, don't be distracted get ready"he said.

He noted that the world has testified of the good deeds of the late Rowland Agoha and asked the congregation who will testify that they are born again.

Continuing he said"can God boldly call you his son?, until you become a son, you have no part in the father.Don't allow all your efforts for God to be in vain ".

In her words,the wife of the deceased,Lady Dr Chinwe Agoha,said that her husband's death was like a mirage,a dream that no one could wake her up to negate."Enyi, you fought gallantly as your usual self and mustard your last energy and drew me for a kiss on my forehead when I asked you "are we still together", before surrendering to call of God ".

Journalists present at the burial ceremony observed that over 40 annointed men of God came from different Anglican dioceses,namely Lafia,Nike, Mbaise, Owerri and Ikeduru to pay their last respect to the Peoples Warden and a devoted man of God.

Available information revealed that the deceased gave his life to Christ in 1990 and have served the church and his community in different capacity.

He was a founding member of Amatta Elders Forum, President -General of Amatta Town Union 2005-2009.

He similarly served as the treasurer of the Evangelical Fellowship in the Anglican Communion,the Peoples Warden,PCC member,PTA Chairman St.Cyprians Nursery and Primary school Nike, and was dubbed the Nehemiah of his time,due to his passion for seeing the startup and completion of various projects in the Church.
