Finally, Imo Govt Approves Funds For Athletes To National Youth Games In Asaba

In a swift reaction, the Government of Sen Hope Uzodimma has approved funds for the Imo State Athletes to the 6th edition of the National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State.

According to reports gathered from the Imo State Ministry of Sports as well as the Imo State Sports Commission, the Governor has made funds available for the state contingent to the biennual sports fiesta.

Recall that infonews.com.ng earlier reported that the Imo State contingent who were billed for Asaba as at Tuesday were still stranded at the Dan Anyiam stadium with little or no hope of making the show in Asaba.

But the young athletes who were visibly downcast following that sad development were this afternoon seen in a joyous mood as the first batch reportedly departed for Asaba on Wednesday.

Participating teams were billed to report for accreditation and registration on Tuesday while the opening ceremony holds on Wednesday evening.
