NWFL Championship Under Pressure To Reverse Pelican Stars, First Mahi Babes Result

They might be turn of events on who tops Group A1 in the ongoing 2024 NWFL Championship league in Calabar, Cross River State following an appeal by one of the promotion challengers.

Infonews.com.ng scooped that First Mahi Babes FC has filled a petition against their opponents, Pelican Stars FC on Wednesday at the UJ Esiene Stadium, Calabar asking the authorities to reverse the result of the encounter in their favour.

Although Fist Mahi Babes FC lost the match 2-1 but they have challenged the result following the use of ineligible players during the encounter.

According to the letter written to  NWFL, they claimed that Ayah Theresa A, spotting jersey number 20 and Lawrence Ruth spotting jersey number 14 were not properly cleared from their parent club before using them in the encounter.

They asked NWFL to award them the three points and three goals in accordance with the rules of the league which will catapult them to the top of the league table in group A1 ahead of their last group game against Imo Striker Queens FC tomorrow.
