Amb Ogbonna Boosts Gov Uzodimma's Talent Hunt Devt Programme

In line with the Shared Prosperity & 3R mantra of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Odidika Uzidimma "Onwa Oyoko" on talent hunt development and youth empowerment, The Chairman of Imo State Sports Commission, Hon Prince Sir Eleazar Onyewuchi Ogbonna "Ambassador" has taken the vision to the next level.

This was made evident recently when The Commissioner for Sports, Hon Obinna Everestus Onyeocha and the Commissioner for Youth & Talent Hunt Development, Hon Emeka Mandela accompanied the Sports Commission Chairman, Amb Ogbonna to launch the Talent Hunt FC Academy, Imo state.

Addressing the players shortly before their friendly with Campos FC at the Old Township Stadium Owerri, Amb Ogbonna who recently returned from his tour of Europe were he visited  some of the clubs in Spain, France, Italy Romania and Cyprus disclosed about the visit of top scouts for a scouting programme.

According to the ex- international footballer who played for Torino FC, Selerientina FC among other sides in Italy before turning to business, he averred that the plan with the European sides will afford our players/athletes opportunity to train in one of the best facilities as well as sign for clubs after trials.

He revealed that in the next few weeks arrangement will be concluded for the arrival of top Sporting Directors and Football Scouts from Achyronas Onisilos FC of Cyprus, Brest FC of France, Sevila FC, Deportivo FC of Spain and FC Cluj of Romania for an 8 Days Football Scouting Programme to see and select talented players for professional offers in Europe.

He noted that the programme is part of the Sports Commission's support to Gov Uzodimma's youth empowerment Programme especially in the sports sector noting that sports remains the highest employer of youths if well harnessed.

"This opportunity is one of the visions of the 3R Administration to develop sports and empower our talented youths through soccer.

"In the next few days we shall be revealing the date of the programme and the teams who will be taking part.
