Imo Sports Commission Boss, Amb Ogbonna Hails Amuneke, Heartland On 1st League Victory

Chairman of the Imo State Sports Commission, Hon Prince Sir Eleazar Onyewuchi Ogbonna "Ambassador" has hailed Coach Emmanuel Amuneke, and Heartland FC on their well deserved first league victory in the 2024/25 NPFL season.

Speaking through his Media Assistant, Amb Ogbonna said he has never been in doubt about the capabilities of Coach Amuneke and in his strategies, insisting that the Governor's decision to engage the former U-17 double World cup winning Gaffer was very germain.

He averred that with this first victory in the kitty, that many more victories will follow suit urging the players not to relent in their efforts.

The ex-international who played professional football in Italy before switchi to an international business guru and philanthropist also pleaded with the fans and all stakeholders as well as football enthusiasts in the state and it's environs to continue to support the team expressing optimism that with the professional giudeance of the former Sporting Lisbon and Barcelona FC winger, Heartland is on the right track back to glory days.

Amb Ogbonna further used the opportunity to intimate of his relentless pursuit to attracting professional football experts to partner with the Imo State Sports Commission with the view of ensuring that the youth empowerment programme of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Odidika Uzidimma in sports is well on course as some of the partners are due in the state soon.
