Owerri North LGA Inaugurates 7th Legislative Council, As Emekuku Ward 2 Councillor, Ajaero Emerges Leader

 

The newly elected councillors of the 12 INEC wards in Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State were on Tuesday 15th October, 2024 inaugurated at the council Headquarters, Orie Uratta with their first Legislative business.

Earlier in his speech during the auspicious occasion, the Executive chairman of Owerri North, Hon. Lucky Abaraonye in his inaugural speech welcomed those who graced the occasion and promised that he is going to work in synergy with the councillors to leave Owerri North better than they met it.

The principal officers of the 7th Legislative council of Owerri North are;

- Leader - Hon. Henry Ajaero (Emekuku ward 2)

- Deputy leader - Hon. Lady Anthonia Egbuzor (Awaka/Ihitta ward)

- Majority leader - Hon. Onyekachi Donald Uzoma (OAU ward)

- Chief whip - Hon. Iheanyi Brendan (Orji)

Other councillors inaugurated are;

Hon. Chiji Victor (Egbu ward)

Hon. Leo Onyirimba (Naze ward)

Hon. Odionyenma Emmanuel (Amakohia/Akwakuma ward)

Hon. Prince Ikechukwu Igwe (Emekuku ward 1)

Hon. Anthony Nkwodinma (Obibi ward 2)

Hon. Ngozi Funmi Ohaka (Obibiezena ward)

Hon. Samuel Ekwe (Emii ward)

Hon. Ndeze Anyasodor (Obibi ward 1)

Meanwhile, the Clerk of the Legislative council, Lady Clara Obiefule read the proclamation by the Governor of Imo State, Dist. Senator Hope Odidika Uzodinma. She also decorated the Leader and Deputy leader of the 7th Legislative House of Owerri North.
