Annunciation Catholic Parish Owerri Celebrates Harvest/Bazzar In Grand Style

The memories of Sunday November 10,2024, will continue to linger in the hearts of parishioners of Annunciation Catholic Church, Umuguma Housing Estate New Owerri,as they celebrated the 2024 Harvest/Bazzar in grand style.

Starpost Express Correspondent that witnessed the occasion reported that the event commenced with a consecrated High mass, with four Reverend Fathers in attendance,Msgnr. Joseph Ejiofor,Frs PC Anoruo the parish priest, Emmanuel Onyenekperechi and the Chief celebrant,Fr. Boniface Okea.

The officiating priest held the worshippers spellbound during his homily and spiritual utterance to the admiration of the worshippers who waited patiently.

Families supported the harvest by offering  sacrifices with cows,rams, goats,fowls, agricultural products and other gift items.

The harvest programme was kick started by the Chairman of the occasion and the chief Harvester,Engr Anthony Aji,who flagged off the event with a whopping sum, making other parishioners to follow suit.

The event witnessed sales of agricultural products at the end of the mass.

The 2024 Harvest organizing committee, spiced up the occasion with new innovations as has never been witnessed since the creation of the parish.

Some of the programmes that added favour to the event includes: canesethics display by children,egg race between Christian Fathers and Christian Mothers,dancing competition, brain teaser (question and answer),with gift items presented to the winners.

Speaking to journalist at the end of the event,the Chairman of the Planning Committee,Mr Martin Onuoha, thanked God for the success of the programme and the committee members for their contributions, efforts and commitments that made the Harvest/Bazzar unique and successful.

He prayed God to bless and replenish the pockets of all those that contributed either in kind of cash.
