Enyimba Wanted All 3 Points In Umuahia, Draw Not Good Enough - _Enyimba Gaffer, Yema_

Enyimba FC Technical Adviser, Coach Yemi Olanrewaju Daniel says his team wanted all three points in their derby against Abia Warriors FC in Umuahia.

A 9th minute strike from WAFU B U-20 AFCON Zonal winner, Clinton Jephta gave the The People's Elephant an early lead to unsettle Umuahia fans but the home side rallied to profit from poor closing down as Adejoh Ojonugwa levelled situation for Abia Warriors at 26th minute.

Paschal Eze who returned from the CHAN Eagles camping almost gave the Aba giants the winner but for the reflexes of, Sharp Uzoigwe in goal for the Warriors who parried his thunderous header of Ufere Chinedu's Conner away.

Reacting after the pulsating encounter that had a record crowd including government officials of the state, Coach Yema said it wasn't a bad game but regretted not getting all three points to keep up pace with fellow table toppers.

He expressed his anger following the slow approach of his boys shortly after they scored a situation said allowed the home team to gain confidence into the game.

When quizzed about his half time substitution that saw Ifeanyi Ihemekwele and Eze Ekwutoziam make way for Joseph Atule and Ismail Sariki, he replied that they opted for broke with two strikers and option he noted couldn't click hence the coming in of former Abia Warriors attacking midfielder, Nweke Kalu for Ekene Awazie.

Abia Warriors Coach, Imama Amakpakabo praised his team for holding Enyimba whom he said is the only Nigerian side still in the continent.

He however thanked the Umuahia fans for coming out en mass to make the 12th man as he urged them to come out more to support their team.

"Yeah it wasn't a bad game but actually I came here for all three points because we need to push up, I don't want the gap to be much.

"As you could see, we are not used to this ground, we couldn't keep the ball as we would love to but despite that I give kudos to the boys although I was mad with them towards the end of first half we allowed them so much time.

Coach Yema also reacted the teams preparedness for the continental game against Al Masry in Alexandria Egypt later this month saying the team would be entering into closed camping. He added that they would also not loose focus on the league as the team is ambitious and also wants to compete for the league till the as well do well at the continent.

Enyimba still maintains it's 3rd position on the log with 20 points from 12 games three shy of Remo Stars on first position and 2 point off Rivers United on second.
