Imo Sports Commission Chairman, Amb Ogbonna Hails OFC President's Cup, As Team Adriano Maintains Lead

 

The Chairman Imo State Sports Commission, Hon Prince Eleazar Onyewuchi Ogbonna "Ambassador" has praised the members of Owerri Fitness Club (OFC) on their 2024 President's Cup.

Amb Ogbonna who spoke to infonews.com.ng on the event which kicked off on Tuesday October 29th, 2024 at Actiz Sports Arena opposite Concord Hotel, New Owerri said the club is a well organized group commending them for finding time to unwind after their personal business and work to maintain healthy leaving.

While highlighting the importance of exercising  Amb Ogbonna who played professional football in Italy before venturing into business said his office will continue to partner and work with veteran teams in the state such OFC to ensure that stars of yesterday are not forgotten and the strengthen the essence of maintaining healthy exercises.

Reacting the President of the club, Engr Chukwudi Madubuko while explaining the motivation behind the tournament and the uniqueness of the 2024 edition said  Team St Christopher is dedicated to his late father Nnaoma Christopher Madubuko who's burial comes up on December 20th, 2024.

He further expressed that the tournament apart from affording them the opportunity to keep up with good exercise also allows them to exchange pleasant ideas and contacts for their various businesses.

After 3 round of games on Thursday 15th November 2024, Team Adriano still maintains the lead on the table with 9 points with three victories while Team Muna Suits is second with 5 points after one win, one loss and one draw.

Team St Christopher (The President's team) is third on the log with 5 points after one win, one draw and one loss but has a poor goal difference.

Team Sakura makes up the rear with no point haven lost their three game so far.
