IMSUAA Election 2024: Calmness, Peace & Unity Restored As Chima Madu Salutes Charles Nwosu On Electoral Victory
Joseph ODOEKWU
There is breath of fresh air in the sky with hopes of peace, calmness and unity for IMSUAA in the just concluded general elections, as Dr. Chima Madu who lost to Mr. Charles Nwosu in the presidential election dropped a congratulatory message to him on the official platform of the association.
The Imo-based and former National Secretary of IMSUAA, who also made the list as one of the heroes of Porpor Night, contested against Porpor himself but was also quick to admit in his congratulatory message that the sacrifice which he made to bring stability in our polity and Alumni was well appreciated by members.
*“President Elect, Charles Nwosu (Porpor).*
*I sincerely rejoice with you over your deserved victory. Your victory is a demonstration of the members' appreciation of your sacrifice to bring about stability in our polity and Alumni.*
*The contest has enabled you to dig deep and reach out to the various chapters and also prepared better to lead. It is not a position served on a platter.*
*The manifesto has served the purpose of bringing the challenges and solutions to the fore.* *I pledge to be your great supporter and shall give my best to enable you succeed. Your success shall be our collective gain.*
*My joy is that the strong resolve to sustain peace, love and unity of purpose we share was further demonstrated while we all communed together”.*
*Long live IMSUAA*
*Long live lmo State University"*
*-Dr. Chima Madu, FNOA*
The emotional message has received lots of accolades, and it’s a reminiscent of the travails and psychological torture which members went through when issues of transitional election almost tore the association apart.
Prior to Dr. Chima’s message, incumbent and outgoing secretary Ik Ogbonna who also lost in the polls to Dr. Majesty Duru had also congratulated the winner. He charged Dr Majesty to remain focused, describing his emergence as the will of the people which must be respected and appreciated for the progress of the association.
In another development, Nze Chimaraoke (Guvnor) who also sought a second term in office as National Organizing Secretary bowed to the outcome of the election after losing to Mrs. Amanze Daphine who now emerged as National Organizing Secretary-elect. In his acceptance of defeat speech, Chimaraoke placed the interest of the delegates and members of the association as a whole as topmost, he reiterated that the oneness, unity and development of the association is paramount and pledged to do everything within his reach to be support the association at any point in time when it is needed.
The outcome of the 2024 IMSUAA general elections has placed the association on the path of peace and unity, the board, Stakeholders, Imo State Government and all her parastatals must play their own positive roles towards promoting and protecting the principles which the association was established for by her founding fathers.
