“Serving IMSU Alumni From Diaspora Will Further Strengthen My Bond With Association”- Ijele Enugu

The Vice President 1-elect of the Imo State University Alumni Association (IMSUAA) Dr. Prince Ogbogu Asogwa (Ijele ENUGU) has stated that his emergence in the capacity which he was elected for will further strengthen his bond with the association and make him more committed despite being in diaspora.

Ijele disclosed this to our correspondent from his base in Europe through phone conversation while congratulating President-elect, Mr. Charles Nwosu (Porpor) and others who emerged to serve the association in the next term on their emergence in their various capacities.

“I congratulate Porpor, my man on his emergence as President-elect”. “When we aspire to perform certain tasks or hold certain positions, they might not come immediately but when it’s God’s time, it will surely come to pass”.

Ijele who was recently recognized as one of the heroes of Porpor Night, hinted that he served the association during the election which took place in Enugu four years ago, and will be willing to continue to do so despite being out of the country and his new position will make his relationship stronger with the IMSUAA.

“I was the Chief Security Officer (CSO) ," he said jokingly, during the 2020 election when Barr. Okey Ozumba emerged as president after which he instituted the Porpor Night”. ‘I gave my all because I was outside the venue with security men who were armed to the tooth to protect the election and since leaving the country it looked as if there would be a gap”

“But my emergence now as Vice President 1–elect will help me hold firm to the principles and philosophy which we share as an association, and I am very sure that from time to time I will do my best to give this administration and the association as a whole the best from my location”.

‘Four years ago, I was CSO and helped provide safety for IMSUAA election but today I have been elected as Vice President 1 of the association and this shows that we can always serve in various capacities at some point until we get to the top” Ijele concluded.

Ijele who is now Vice-President 1-elect will be performing special tasks for the association, and notable amongst such tasks is assisting the President to oversee the Europe and North American chapter when the need arises.
