Imo Sports Commission European Partners To Grace Final Of The Gov's Cup

Following a fruitful deliberation between the Imo State Sports Commission, Ministry of Sports, Ministry of Youth & Talent Hunt Development and that of Ministry of Education, the partners of the Imo State Sports Commission from Spain who are currently in the state under the influence of the Sports Commission Chairman, Hon Prince Sir Eleazar Onyewuchi Ogbonna "Ambassador", will grace the final of the Governor's Cup on Thursday.

The final of the competition which holds on Thursday, December 5th 2024 at Assumpta Primary School Field, beside St Andrews Anglican Church off Methodist Bus Stop on MCC/Uratta road, Owerri will have as guests the  owner of CF NOU JOVE CASTELLON of Spain, Mr Endo Chiva Juan Jose, the club President, Mr Ramos Molina Manuel and a football Agent, Mr Isisguzo Keny Patrick Uche. 

After a meeting ahead of the Governor's Cup final with Sports Commissioner, Hon Obinna Onyeocha, Commissioner for Youth, Dr Emeka Mandela and that of Ministry of Education the Director of  Sports, Imo Sports Commission, Mrs Patricia Ezeji represented the Sports Commission Chairman, who is currently in Europe for a medical check up as well to follow up on other European partners for other Talent Hunt programmes, it was resolved that the Spanish partners of the Commission will grace the event and possibly look out for good talents.

Reacting from Europe through his Media Aide on the development, Amb Ogbonna noted that this shows the synergy between the Ministries and the Sports Commission working vigorously to actualize the diversified Youth Empowerment programme of His Excellency under the Shared Prosperity/3R mantra.

He maintained that since inception of his administration that the Sports Commission has opened various channels with various Sports Agencies across Europe including the current visit of the club owner of, CF NOU JOVE CASTELLON and his President to actualize the Governor's vision for the youths including many others geared towards reviving other sports in the state such as Handball, Volleyball, Basketball, Athletics, Boxing, Wrestling, Tennis among many others.

The Sports Commission Boss, further informed that after completion of the Talent Hunt Academy Scouting Programme which kicks off today, that more of the partners are also billed for Imo for more programmes to horn and develope our talented athletes. He added that his administration is ready to work with other agencies of the state to help Imo talents.
