Suraju Lawal is Imo SWAN Heartland FC Player of the month for November

Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, Imo Chapter has announced attacker, Surajudeen Lawal as its Heartland FC Player of the month for November, 2024.

In a poll conducted by the Association's members, Lawal pipped Christian Nkwo and Christian Molokwu to the award while Chukwuma Agor and Michael Ogu were also on the poll after the association carefully reviewed the performances of the players in the month of November.

Striker Lawal who started all five games for the Naze Millionaires in the month of November, scored two breathtaking goals against Kano Pillars in Kano before a capacity crowd and was subsequently picked as the game's Man of the Match.

He put up another top drawer performance in Ilorin against Kwara United on Wednesday where he hit the woodwork once and had two penalty appeals turned down in another Man of the Match performance. Lawal's consistency in the other games too has never been faulted.

Lawal who will become the third recipient of the award behind Peters Afolayan (September) and Ebuka Nwokoecha (October) will receive the honour on Sunday shortly before the kick off of Heartland FC versus Nasarawa United's NPFL Matchday 15 tie in Owerri.

Imo SWAN Heartland FC Player of the Month and initiative of Cosmos Chukwuemeka led is a social responsibility project of the Association which will culminate in the Heartland FC's Player of the season accolade when the 2024-25 season ends next year.
