The Chairman of the Imo State Sports Commission, Hon. Sir Prince (Amb.) Eleazar Onyewuchi Ogbonna, FINCA, has commended Governor Hope Odidika Uzodimma for his visionary leadership and unwavering dedication to the development of sports in Imo State. As Governor Uzodimma marks the first anniversary of his second term in office, the Sports Commission Boss lauded the Governor’s resolve to expand the state's focus beyond football and prioritize the growth of other sports disciplines.

In a heartfelt congratulatory message, Amb. Ogbonna, a former Italian Serie A professional footballer and a passionate advocate for grassroots sports development, praised the Governor’s transformative strides under the Shared Prosperity and 3R Administration. He highlighted the Governor's achievements in delivering the dividends of democracy and fostering opportunities for Imolites to excel across multiple sectors, including sports.

Reflecting on the Governor’s recent media interaction on January 14, 2024, Amb. Ogbonna emphasized the significance of Uzodimma’s pledge to diversify sports development in Imo State. During the session, the Governor acknowledged football as the "king of sports" but assured the public that his administration would give increased attention to other sports in the remaining years of his tenure.
