FIRST MAHI BABES FC UNVEILS NEW RECRUITS AHEAD NWFL CHAMPIONSHIP, 2025 FED CUP

NWFL Championship side, First Mahi Babes FC, has unveiled six new players as part of its preparations for the upcoming season. The unveiling ceremony took place on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at the team's camp in Abajah, Mbano L.G.A, Imo State.
Chairman of the club, Chief Prince Chidiebere Onuoha, expressed his delight at the new additions, stating that his aim is to discover, develop, and project talented young women footballers to the world.
The six new players unveiled are Chiwendu Ogechi Glory, a 15-year-old attacker from Imo State; Emmanuella Alamezie Ibe, an 18-year-old defender from Imo State; Ebizimo Joy James, a 16-year-old midfielder from Bayelsa State; William Loveth Godwin, a 15-year-old defender from Akwa Ibom State; Okechukwu Chidera Perpetual, a 16-year-old attacker from Imo State; and Blessing Ogolo, a 15-year-old attacker from Rivers State.
During the unveiling ceremony, parents and guardians of the six players signed contracts approving their consent for First Mahi Babes FC to manage the players for five years with renewable options. The club's chairman, Chief Prince Chidiebere Onuoha, assured the parents that the club would take good care of their wards, easing the burden off their parents and guardians. Also present was the Vice Chairman of the club, Lolo Mrs Juliana Chidiebere Onuoha.
First Mahi Babes FC will participate in the Ebonyi State FA cup and the Nigerian Women Football League Championship later in the year. The club has decided to switch its base from Imo State to Ebonyi State. Chairman Onuoha, who won the Imo State Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (Imo SWAN) Female Football Development Promoter of the Year 2024, stated that the club's aim is to play in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) in a few years, where the ladies will showcase their talents and conquer the world.
Parents of the players expressed joy and happiness at the opportunity provided by First Mahi Babes FC. They thanked the chairman, vice chairman, coaches, and staff of the club for making the signing and unveiling ceremony a success. The parents believe that their wards have all it takes to conquer the world through football.
With the unveiling of the new players, First Mahi Babes FC is poised to make a significant impact in the NWFL Championship. The club's commitment to developing young women footballers is commendable, and its ambition to play in the NWFL in the near future is a testament to its dedication to promoting Nigeria Women's football in Nigeria.
