Ngor-Okpala LG boss, Ibekwe Bags Nigeria Girls Guide Award Of Excellence

The first female Chairman of the Ngor-Okpala Local Government Area in Imo State, Hon.Chika Ibekwe, has been conferred with an award of excellence by the Nigerian Girls Guide Association.

Hon Ibekwe was honored at the Ngor-Okpala council headquarters in Umuneke Ngor in recognition of her exceptional leadership commitment and empowerment of the girls , young women, and families in Imo State and society.

Speaking onTuesday after receiving the award, the council boss commended the Nigerian Girls Guide Association for using its platform to reach out to women and girls in the society, pledging to continue her efforts in promoting good governance at the council.

The soft-spoken council boss, who also received women Coordinator equity, charged the groups to be ambassadors of love, peace, and unity and also to work in harmony with their various members to ensure that they represent the people's interests with integrity and compassion.

Hon Ibekwe said the award would serve as a source of motivation and spur her to do more 

She also commended the women co-ordinator equity for visiting from Aboh Mbaise and charged them to be loyal 

Responding on behalf of the Nigerian Girls Guide Association, Imo State, Lady Dr Stella Ekeh, State Commissioner appreciated the chairman for her achievement within her short period in office.

Lady Dr Stella Ekeh said Hon Chika Ibekwe was honored with the award of excellence in recognition of her exceptional leadership roles. , commitment and empowerment of the girls child, families in Imo State and beyond.

The group's State Commissioner further said the award was in commemoration of this year's Thinking Day, celebrated every February 22, aimed at enabling young girls and women to learn how they can build a better future in a safe environment.
