Ikukuoma Crowned Champions of Chief Okpotemba U-19 Mini Football League









Ikukuoma FC Feeders, emerged champions at the maiden edition of Chief Okpotemba Under-19 Mini Football League in Isinweke, after securing a decisive 2-0 victory over Okpotemba FC in their final match on Tuesday.


The title-clinching game saw Ikukuoma FC take an early lead in the 9th minute through a well-taken goal by Ibe George. Onwuzurigbo Joseph doubled the advantage in the 30th minute, sealing a dominant display and ensuring that the team finished top of the league standings.


The Mbaise Blues, set the tone for their championship run with a 2-1 win over Campos FC Feeders in their opening game, with George and Onwuzurigbo both finding the back of the net. They continued their fine form on matchday two, securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Abia Warriors Feeders, courtesy of a 41st-minute strike from Nneji Chimezirim.


With three wins from three matches, Ikukuoma, amassed the highest points total in the league-format competition, finishing as the undisputed champions. Reflecting on the team’s success, head coach Opeke Innocent expressed his delight, praising the squad’s dedication and discipline. “I'm incredibly proud of these young lads for their dedication and hard work throughout the competition. From the first whistle to the last, they showed great character, discipline, and a winning mentality.
