"PDP Still Very Alive & Strong in Imo State” - Hon Arthur Ugochukwu Declares, Receives Scores of Labour Party Members

In a highly spirited and unifying political gathering over the weekend, Hon. Arthur Ugochukwu declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is alive, strong, and ready to reclaim its rightful place in Imo State politics.

Speaking before a vibrant crowd of party faithful, elders, women, youths, and newly received members from the Labour Party, in his country home in Egberede-Ngwuru on Monday, April 21st, Hon. Ugochukwu delivered a stirring message of hope, unity, and forward movement. The event marked a major milestone for the PDP, signaling a renewed sense of purpose and strength ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“PDP is not dead. PDP is not weak. PDP is very much alive, strong, and standing tall—especially here in Aboh Mbaise,” Ugochukwu declared to thunderous applause. “We must come together as one big family, forgive, reconcile, and re-invigorate this party. This is our home. This is our time!”

Hon. Ugochukwu, a successful businessman and proud son of Aboh Mbaise, passionately emphasized that the recent Supreme Court judgment of March 21, 2025, affirming Distinguished Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu (SamDaddy) as the authentic National Secretary of the PDP, was a turning point for the party in the state.

“This victory is not just legal—it is divine. SamDaddy is not just a leader, he is the next Governor of Imo State. We gave Imo State "Okele Ukwu ndi Mbaise" as governor. He is the voice of the oppressed and the bridge to our desired future,” Ugochukwu said. “Mbaise will be proud to say we gave Imo State a Governor who truly cares for the people. SamDaddy wu dike!”

He further charged party members to begin massive mobilization across all wards and polling units, urging them to bring in neighbors, friends, and family, as PDP rebuilds itself from the grassroots up.

“Without much ado, when you have prospects, there is no need to be desperate,” he added.

Adding his voice, the Local Government Chairman of the Party Sir. Maxwell Nnabuihe thanked Arthur Ugochukwu for his show of capacity and support to the party. He charged other leaders and  members of the party  to emulate him.

A major highlight of the event was the formal reception of scores of former Labour Party members into the PDP fold, signaling growing confidence in the party’s renewed momentum and unity.

The meeting witnessed the presence of several notable political stakeholders, including: Barr. Dr. Ezeji Anamelechi Aguwa (Former Attorney General of Imo State), Amb. Felix Nwosu (PDP State Organizing Secretary), Hon. Geoffrey Ihentuge (Zonal Chairman), Sir. Maxwell Nnawuihe (PDP LGA Chairman, Aboh Mbaise), Onyendu Nwaimo (LGA Chairman, Ezinihitte) Hon. Mike Nkwocha (LGA Chairman, Ngor Okpala), Hon. Ndidi Amadi (LGA Woman Leader, Aboh Mbaise), Lolo Chinyere Onyeise (Zonal Woman Leader) Hon. Dennis Adikwuru, Hon. Mike Iheanetu (Former Member, Imo State House of Assembly), Barr. Kelechi Ahamba (Legal Practitioner and Party Strategist) amongst others.
